Negeen's Testimony

Some of you will recognize Negeen's voice. She is a frequent caller on "Jesus or Muhammad." Negeen just recorded her glorifying testimony. Here it is.

(Note: Many Muslims are sure to attack Negeen for her faith in Jesus. One only needs to observe the Rifqa Bary case to see the lengths Muslims are willing to go to in their persecution of converts to Christianity. Please support Negeen in the comments section of the video when Muslims attack her.)

She is a mysterious combination of charmingly innocent valley girl and the genius of divine inspiration, of innocent youth touched by inklings of infinite spirit. One can see in the video, blossoming in the midst of her 17-year-old American valley girl speaking style, an amazing articulateness about matters of human and spiritual depth. It seems she has been on a remarkable odyssey. She's brave and she has a brain, and she's got some serious soul power. One's heart goes out to the beautiful innocence of that soul expressing itself. Remarkable testimony of the human spirit.

Fascinating to hear her tell about her attraction to and love of Islam, and the reasons for it, such as that she loves her family all of whom are Muslims.

She makes astoundingly clear how deeply rooted many Muslims are in Islam simply as a matter of family connections, traditions, lifeways, and not because they understand what Islam actually says. As she pointed out, for many Muslims it's wrong to read a translation of the Qur'an, and thus many Muslims never find out very clearly what their book says.; December 26, 2009 at 10:35 PM

It seems you're trying to attack Negeen's credibility. And to do so, you pretend there's no distinction between (a) what Muslims are taught in the Qur'an, and (b) what Muslims are taught by their parents, friends, culture, etc.

If we read the Qur'an without any outside influence, we would conclude that the book of the Christians is reliable scripture that must be obeyed. Thus, according to the Qur'an, people should read and obey the New Testament. The problem is that the New Testament completely contradicts the Qur'an, which is why many Muslims (especially young Muslim girls) are told to stay away from the Bible. After all, if they read it, they may realize that it contradicts the Qur'an, and that Islam is therefore false.

As for translations of the Qur'an, practically every other time I quote the Qur'an to a Muslim, I'm told that my translation isn't the Qur'an, and that only the Arabic is the Qur'an. So I'm not surprised to hear that the Muslims around Negeen frowned upon translations.; December 26, 2009 at 11:10 PM

I understand that the name and purpose of this website is 'Answering Muslims' and not 'Attacking Christians'.

Alhamdulillah Rabeel Alemeen (All praise is due to The Lord of all the Worlds), I believe that I have demonstrated this understanding in my conduct.

I didn't know that asking two specific questions regarding the teachings of Islam (contained within the Noble Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah) would garner anything other than a 'Yes' or 'No'.

Astaghfirullah Adheem (All-Mighty God the Supreme, forgive me) if I have said anything to you in these two particular questions that could be perceived as disrespectful or warranting the angry response you have just given me.

I absolutely agree there is a huge distinction between what is spoken by Allah Subhana Wa Ta'alaa (All-Mighty God) through the teachings of the Noble Qur'an and what many Muslims are taught by their parents, culture, friends, etc.

You may be used to Christians who are easily offended, but we aren't. No one here is made of glass. We're debaters, arguers, rebukers, etc., and we can take it as much as we can dish it. I draw the line at (1) cursing, (2) pointlessly insulting someone (i.e. without making any real point), and (3) blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Since I doubt you'll be crossing any of these lines, you don't have much to worry about when you post your comments.

As for your challenges to Negeen's points, she made certain comments, and you challenged them. Thus, it seemed you were attempting to undermine her credibility, suggesting that she doesn't really know what she's talking about. This doesn't offend me at all. I will say here that I've never met a convert to Islam who has done what I would consider to be a careful study of Christianity and Islam. That's my view, and I won't hesitate to present it. Similarly, if you believe that someone made mistakes in converting to Christianity, I see no reason you shouldn't say it (and say it boldly).

The point of all of this is simple. You're free to disagree, to criticize, to question, and to challenge on this blog. If I didn't want people challenging our claims, I wouldn't allow comments. But when we disagree with you, no need to apologize. Just because I disagree doesn't mean I'm accusing you of poor conduct. When the average american converts to islam he would meet very little persecution and would never have to fear for his/her life however when a muslim converts to Christ we know severe persecution and worse is possible.

I think you are setting a very careful and intellectual method for choosing a religion ... examining ecidence, and talking to scholars.. and overall praying to god.. and being ready to submit .. even if we get weak sometimes like early Peter, yet, Jesus hand strengthens our faith !!

Unoftunately, Negeen.. let me tell you .. the road Jesus promised us with, is the cross !!! the hard way to get life ... he asked us to do everything against the world !!! narrow is the path, and few will survive it ... !!! jesus didnt promise to fulfill our desires neither on earth nor in heaven ... however we are happy when he is our only desire !!! he is the real and full satisfaction !! he is our strenght in our weakness !! he is our help when we need !!! he is our good shepered !!!

always feel free to call him father .. he likes this name, and thats how he taught us to call him ... now you are one of his children ... and the heaven is so so happy you joined the family ... as his kid, we can call him anytime, and ask him, complain to him, praise him, thank him, chat with him , do everything through an with him... he always listens, and be sure yes he answers .. he likes to get infovlved in our lives...

your faith will be challenged .. but thats to get into a higher level ...

Fernando said...: Just some personal account: when I studied in a madrassa in Indonesia I was, definately, not allowed to read the qur'an in a language I coulde understand it, and was, defeninately, nott allowed to read the Bible: aboutte this one I only knew those passages thate were written in anti-Christian and anti-jewish texts...

this does not say a lot about all islam, butt it definately sais a lot about islam mentality...

While it would be kind of you to make such a video appeal to me, I don't desire that you waste your time. If you do, I will definitely take a look at the video. Perhaps, I should have made it more clear that I love Islam for the Muslims. Doctrinally wise and theologically wise I just don't buy it, for good reason. Yahya do you know how foolish that sounds. Why would any one leave the saving grace of Christ? Why would anyone leave the perfect atoning sacrafice provided by God for his people? And what is she to leave that for ISLAM?

Does islam provide the Grace of God that Christ provides with his sacrafice?

Does Islam provide the HOPE of Salvation for ones sins? Or does it just give you HOPE that you may have HOPE?

Does Islam provide the Mercy that God provides by substituting his own son in place of your own sins. So that Gods Just Wrath does not fall on your own head?

Yahya we christians are the recepiants of Gods Mercy, you muslism are at GODS MERCY. And as the bible says "It is a terable thing to fall into the hands of the Living GOD".

Praise the Lord our God. Your personal conversion confirms my believe that FAITH is really a gift and no one can create one nor claim one. It is only by HIS ABSOLUTE GRACE we are saved. No matter what lies in between, it will never be able to snatch you from the Lord's hand. The true faith which was given will eventually end to her Master. You did try hard to backslide to your previous religion with all you might but you failed...

Great testimony.. I was touched and rejoice.. By the way, i have even saved it in my hard drive and planning to burn it into DVD if you dont mind.

The opinion of the majority of scholars on this is that any translation of the Qur'an must be viewed as a tafseer rather than inspired Scripture.

Doctor Wood made a valid point in pointing out that the Qur’an testifies to the Authority and authentic nature of the Holy Bible. Thus the Muslim believe that the Bible has been corrupted is primarily based on an ‘oral tradition’ with no basis in Scripture or history.

I rejoice the call you a sister in Christ. At such a young age GOD has granted you the wisdom to fully understand his saving faith on the cross of Calvary. May God continue to strengthen you in his Word to overcome all evil. I know that your journey has just begun and that the time of picking up the cross will come and had has come. He has a short 49 Second Video were he says
"If you claim to love jesus and want to have a relationsip with Jesus in the hereafter then become a muslim..." He then quotes the Gospel of Mark 3:35.

"For whoever does the will of God he is my brother and my sister and my mother"

Yahya Snow then goes on to tell us that "We know that the muslims are the ones who do the will of God..."

How do we know that muslims are the ones who do the will of God you may ask? Well he tells you.

"The word Muslim simply meens the one who has submitted to the will of God... So Jesus is speaking to the Muslims" Wow case closed how could I have been so blind.

He then concludes with "If you want to have the great title of being a brother or sister of Jesus then Convert to Islam."

Pause for laughter, no really pause for laughter.

Such in depth study such great eptimology how can one not be convinced by this.

If you love Jesus you will do the will of God. Muslisms are the ones who do the will of God becasue the word muslim meens the one who submits to God, so therefore if you become a muslim you love Jesus.

Now compare that to Nageens testimony. How she studied, prayed, and laborured over the truth. How she did not make decison lightly. It was trully a labor for her to come to the truth.

But the Bible doesn't say that Muslims do the will of God. What Yahya Snow fails to tell his readers is that Jesus explained the will of God as follows: "For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:40).

So the Bible tells us to do the will of God, and it describes the will of God as believing in the Son. But since Muslims don't believe in the Son of God, the Bible commands us not to be Muslims.

Why, then, does Yahya attempt to deceive his viewers and readers? If he were a more knowledgeable Muslim, I would say "Taqiyya." But since I don't think Yahya really knows anything, I suspect he's just plain ignorant of what the Bible says about the will of God.; December 28, 2009 at 3:07 PM

My advice is to always research both sides,Islam and Chrsitianity plus other belief systems.For Mr.Snow and Yusuf Hamza,I know Muslims have a high regard for BART EHRMAN.He was a Christian but is now an agnostic.I believe he is still going to heaven,for once saved,always saved.

The fact that Bart Ehrman rejected Christ this time certainly does not an indication that he will reject Christ all his life. However, should he rejects Christ to death, I would believe the first conversion he had originally was a fake one. It may have just been a strong feeling to urge him to follow the multitude of Christ's followers. Thus, he was not saved originally. Consequently, though I believe Once saved is always saved, providing he declines Christ to the end of his life then he belongs to the unsaved...

The belief is it's faith ONLY in Jesus as Saviour,not in our good works.It is faith that we have ACTUALLY received the FREE gift of salvation,and it's a gift,it doesn't have to be earned.
I know MOST Christians believe,not based on weighing the pros and cons,analysing debates,but that they simply believe.It never ceases to amaze me.They actually believe.And one shows alot of evidence to others and they just don't believe it's enough to accept salvation.

That argument is excusable from an ex-Christian who has not received training,but HE should have said:"Here are the passages in the OT that I was told point to the TRINITY.
Here is why I reject them as being valid:for reasons A,B,C,etc."

The way I see it is that it can be solved by the TRINITY.When God the Son lived as a HUMAN,he was STILL GOD.But since he was a HUMAN then speaking AS a HUMAN,he could say to ANOTHER HUMAN:"You are my brother,sister,mother if you do the will of God(my will,since I am God)."

It was ridiculous to you the rituals in Islam, and facing east while praying;
You had friends who went to mosques;
You couldn’t go to a Church because your parents would not let you;
You found Islam was false, inconsistent, historically does not add up;
Muhammad was not the best moral example;
You blogged, writing about your concerns, about how much Islam does not make sense to you;
David Wood came to your blog
But you were already familiar with David and watched his debates for hours taking notes;
Spoke to Nabeel Qureshi too via email, sharing his experiences;
Islam as the cause of violence in the world and other atrocities;
You pronounce ‘Mu-ha-med’ (instead of ‘Muham-madh’)

As a starter, one question I would like you to answer: How did you finally rationalize the belief in trinity while you believed in Allah as one God? Did a One-God make sense to you previously? Please share this with us on this blog.

When I make wudu and if I wash my limbs three times I count that as three and not once.

Where in the Qur'an does God promises salvation to Muslims? In many places;

My Lord Jesus saved me through His grace. I was a devout and practicing Muslims. Even earned a Master's degree in Islamic Studies and studied fiqh and Islamic history.
I want to encourage all my brothers and sisters in Christ here to continue to show love to all Muslims and to pray ceaselessly for them. Jesus has asked us to preach the Good news to all nations, so that when He comes back (which is soon!!) many can be takenn up with Him to heaven.

- It has been speculated by scholars that Jesus' earthly father (Joseph) died by the time Jesus began His ministry. Jesus was about thirty years old (Luke 3:23) when He started His ministry. This event in Mark that you have pointed out is already well into Jesus' ministry. Also, the verse you have brought to our attention (Mark 6:3) continues with "... and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. Aren't His sisters here with us?" If Jesus was an illegitimate son then perhaps James, Joseph, Judas, Simon and His sisters are also illegitimate children of Mary? Really?

The crowd identifies Jesus as "Mary's son" because Joseph, His eartly father, was already dead. This phrase was used by the crowds because His father was already dead, not because Jesus was an illegitimate child.

Remember since you are Muslim (correct me if I am wrong), you also believe that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary. Doesn't that at least mean he was something special? I encourage you to try seeking more about what the Bible says Jesus is. Whether you believe the Bible to be corrupt or not, at least try to understand why these Christians believe the way they believe.
