First let's get something clear about erroneous notions of Paul and his founding a new religion, which he didn't. True, the halakhah of his Judaism switched from the Pharisaic oral law to the Ruach Hakodesh, but his religion was still one of the Judaisms of the time, not a new non-Judaism Gentile religion.

His dog became nothing more to him than a laboratory animal for testing suicide pills, and your flesh is the "bite down" point for the Evil Lion, who wants to devour you, to capture you in order that you would do his will and bring reproach on the Holy One and His Holy Ministry. Do you think Satan wants the Jewish people of the world to read the Yiddish NT in our bible society spiritual warfare briefcase? Why do you think we have to plead the blood over our minds 24/7 and pray in tongues continually? Flee from temptation and despise your flesh, even the appearance of evil, even the undergarment stained by the flesh. Hate the devil and his Satanic world. Fear G-d and trust Jude 24.

Original sin was and is glorifying Self ("ye shall be as g-ds," Gen 3:5), and not giving G-d his due. Those that miss Moshiach and the new self of regeneration (Col 3:10) did so because they were too in love with the old self (Col 3:9), which is called "philautia" (excessive self-love, Greek). Let's look at what the Scriptures say about self-seeking or self-centered self-exaltation.

Selfishness is considered a virtue in many modern pulpits, where often people are told that G-d wants them to advance in their own interest, in their own power or happiness. That self-superior ancient aberration of Biblical faith called Gnosticism also exalted self-satisfaction and self-knowledge. But like selfish Cain, Balaam, and Korah, these Gnostic pseudo-believers were reprobate and castaway. So, like the true believers that the Gnostics scorn, we must cast down every imagination. We must not seek to obtain that we might "consume it upon our lusts" (Ya 4:3).

We know something the Gnostics do not know: the Word is not propagated apart from sacrifice. The seed of the Word is choked by gross materialism and Mammon-worship. Our model is the Moshiach, who though he was rich, did not serve Self but Others, and, for their sake became poor (2C 8:9). King Saul, on the other hand, fell afoul of the L-rd because his greed led him to repeat the sin of Achan (compare 1Sm 15:13-23 to Josh chp 7).

All who would be rich should seek the true "gain." What is that? The true gain is to come to Moshiach and be found in him and to gain Moshiach (Phil 1:21). This is true gain as opposed to "base gain" or as opposed to "getting gain" (Ya 4:13). See warnings for the man of G-d at Tit 1:11 and 1Ti 3:8 and 1K5:2. You say, "What about loving the neighbor AS the Self?" Reply: we are talking about inordinate self-love. What causes a forfeiture of the soul is not self-preservation but a mirage that excites hope but disappoints it in the end. Mt 16:26.

The repentant ganav (Lk 23:41) was finished with and hated his old life. His old thieving ways he now despised. He hated his life in this world, the life of a thief. Burglary he now renounced. Pick-pocket artful dodging he now loathed. He hated his former life in this world. He was truly sorry for his sins, all his transgressions of the Eighth Commandment and had turned away from this evil, hating even the garment spotted with this sin. So likewise you, hate your old life wherein Hashem and the Bar Enosh and the Ruach Hakodesh--Adonai Echad--did not have first place (Devarim 5:6) and the FIRST COMMANDMENT was transgressed by you. So likewise you, hate your old life wherein your life was corrupted by idols and (Devarim 5:7) the SECOND COMMANDMENT was transgressed by you. So likewise you, hate your old life wherein your tongue was a world of evil and cursing and "Yuska" blasphemy and (Devarim 5:11) and the THIRD COMMANDMENT was transgressed by you. So likewise you, hate your old life wherein Shabbos was not shomer according to the Scriptures as we see in (Devarim 5:12) and the FOURTH COMMANDMENT was transgressed by you. So likewise you, hate your old life wherein parents were not honored according to (Devarim 5:16) and the FIFTH COMMANDMENT was transgressed by you. So likewise you, hate your old life wherein your heart harbored murderous hatred and enmity and malice according to (Devarim 5:17) and the SIXTH COMMANDMENT was transgressed by you. So likewise you, hate your old life wherein your heart cherished imaginations of infidelity and faithlessness according to (Devarim 5:18) and the SEVENTH COMMANDMENT was transgressed by you. So likewise you, hate your old life wherein you indulged in dissembling and deceit and lying according to (Devarim 5:20) and the NINTH COMMANDMENT was transgressed by you. So likewise you, hate your old life wherein your heart was surfeited with jealousy and covetousness and envy according to (Devarim 5:21) and the TENTH COMMANDMENT was transgressed by you. Yes, hate your old life wherein your wickedness brought on yourself and your family generational curses which necessitated the yisurim (sufferings, torments) of Moshiach Goeleinu.
