St. Clair Tisdall, William, 1859-1928
Reverend William St. Clair-Tisdall served as the Secretary of the
Church of England's Church Missionary Society in Isfahan Persia.
Rev. Tisdall was fluent in several languages and spent much time
researching the sources of Islam and the Qur'an in the original
languages. His works provide an important foundation for the
study of Islam and the Qur'an through their analysis of the
sources of Muhammad's ideas.
