[Walid] Is Protected Transmission Sufficient Evidence?
Is Protected Transmission Sufficient Evidence?
Both Muslims and Christians claim that protected transmission is
sufficient evidence to prove a divine revelation. This however is a problem, since all of
the Arabic countries still teach and memorize many ancient pagan poems, none of which are
considered divine by either Muslims or Christians. In the East, most of the pre-Islamic
pagan poetry still exists, and in the West, pre-Christian pagan philosophy is still
intact. However, we must also keep in mind that divine revelation will "always"
be protected by God, regardless of the time it was inspired. To claim that man can get
away with corrupting God's word contradicts God himself; "For assuredly, I say to
you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means
pass from the law till all is fulfilled." (Matthew 5:18). In another
verse, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."
(Matthew 24:35). "For I am the Lord I change not" (Malachi 3:6).
Even the Quran, in Surah 6:115 "The words of the Lord are perfect in truth and
justice; there is none who can change His words". Both religions agree then, that
God has never and will never change, and that his Words were never nor will ever be lost.
It is simply impossible! Any religion or prophet who claims a single change in Gods
Word, goes against Gods own nature, and without apology or fear, notions like this
must be dismissed as being false. God knew that man could protect historical writings,
thus He chose a different method of challenge; Bible Prophecy, and to this
day it is clearly still holding. Later in this book we shall see that fulfilled prophecy
proves without doubt that God keeps his promises to the smallest detail.
Almost all world religions claim to have the necessary divine miracles,
yet when these miracles are studied carefully, we find that they are unable to stand. We
shall clearly see this illustrated in Islam. In Exodus 7:8-12, when the Pharaoh's magic
practicing priests cast their rods to the ground and turned them into big snakes, Aaron
(Moses brother), on Moses command, cast his rod down, and God caused it to swallow them
all. They presented their evil tricks, and God responded with His evidence, evidence that
was irrefutably more powerful.
Having some scientific information in a holy book, or excellent
language, is again not enough to prove divine origin. Satan knows more science than any
man, and can perform signs and wonders that deceive even the very elect. If areas of
scientific matter are included in a religious book, they must be proven beyond reason, in
the same way that evidence is weighed on a scientific scale. This we shall examine in the
final chapter.
God in the Bible warns us of false prophets; "Beware of false prophets,
who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them
by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles?"
(Matthew 7:15-16).
